In
an average year, the Kalamazoo Humane Society makes over 1,300 spay/neuter
surgeries possible. Financial assistance is available to pet owners unable to
afford spay/neuter costs. Counseling and educational information is provided as
to the importance of responsible pet ownership.
The Kalamazoo Humane Society operates a 30’
mobile spay/neuter clinic in an effort to reduce pet overpopulation in Kalamazoo
County. The goal of the program is to spay or neuter pets that would have
remained unaltered due to the limited financial resources of their owners.
Operation Fix-It offers assistance with spay/neutering the pets of low-income
individuals/families at a reduced fee of $20 for male cats, $30 for female cats and $40 for dogs.
Operation Fix-It days are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week at various locations in
Kalamazoo County. If you think you may qualify for the program, or want further information,
contact the Operation Fix-It Program Coordinator at 269-345-1181.
