PROBATE COURT INDEX
The Kalamazoo County Probate Court has established an index of cases.
Information added to this online index is current when the entering of case information occurs at the Probate Court (real-time). All cases, with the exception of sequestered cases, are available.
There is no charge for searching the Probate Court Index and viewing the information online.
The following information is available:
- Case Detail - Case number, type, status, file date and attorney
- Fiduciary - All of the fiduciaries on the case
- Documents - Lists of document entries for the case
What is not available:
Kalamazoo County Probate Court records begin in 1832. Probate records for the years of 1832 to 1990 are available on microfilm. Records from 1990 to 1995 are still in file form. The Probate Index represents cases from 1995 to today's date. Active cases filed prior to 1995 have been added to the Index.
Currently active Probate Court case files, closed files and microfilmed records may be viewed at the Probate Court, 150 E. Crosstown Parkway, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Probate Court office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The court opens on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. due to staff meetings.
