COMMERCIAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

When requested by local municipalities, the Drain Commissioner's Office will review commercial site stormwater designs. During the review of commercial sites the Drain Office will apply all design criteria of Part 1, Section III and Part 2 of these Rules. Any proposed technology will be required to meet the design intent of Part 2, Section A for methodology assessment and selection.

In lieu of open spill containment cells, sediment forebays, basins with 5:1 slopes other alternatives meeting the intent of these treatment methods will be acceptable to the Drain Commissioner's Office. Prior to selecting alternative designs it is expected that the developer and/or their engineer must schedule a preliminary design meeting to review proposed stormwater alternatives.
