Kalamazoo County Drain Commissioner
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT RULES
DESIGN STANDARDS FOR STORMWATER MANAGEMENT FACILITIES
METHODOLOGY
Stormwater management methods for application will be selected based on risk assessment to both quantity and quality of runoff. High risk sites will include municipal, commercial and industrial sites listed in Appendix I as determined by the U.S. EPA Office of Groundwater Protection in the document entitled "Wellhead Protection: A Guide For Small Communities" EPA/625/R93/002, Feb 1993 and ALL sites located within the 10-year time of travel for municipal wells. Wellhead protection maps are available in the Drain Commissioner's Office. All other sites will be designated low risk. The following table will assist the engineer in selecting the method of treatment based on risk assessment as determined above, and the preferred design method chosen by the owner.
