STORMWATER MANAGEMENT RULES
DESIGN STANDARDS FOR STORMWATER MANAGEMENT FACILITIES
SPILL CONTAINMENT CELL
1. Spill containment cells shall be constructed with either a minimum of 1 foot of compacted clay or a 40 mil HDPE liner, or equivalent covered with one foot of sand at a minimum.
2. The volume of the spill containment cell shall be a minimum 2 year, 24 hour storm event (2.7 inches). See Appendix A for Rainfall Frequency Graph.
3. The surface area of the spill containment cell shall also be designed for settling of a 5 micron particle. Refer to the Low Risk - Direct Discharge for Design Criteria. (Part II, Section II, Appendix H).
4. The piping between the spill containment cell and the basin shall pass the design flow from the inlet. The piping shall be reverse slope - the invert of the inlet shall be 1 foot minimum above the bottom of the cell.
