ADDITIONAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS FOR SURFACE WATER DISCHARGE TO THERMALLY SENSITIVE STREAMS

1. When surface water discharge is within a watershed where thermal impacts (cold water streams and designated drains) are a primary concern, deep wet detention basins shall be required.

2. The permanent pool must be a minimum of 8 feet deep. See Appendix H for a listing of cold water designated drains and streams in Kalamazoo County.

3. Additional shade plantings shall be required on the west and south sides of drainage facilities.

4. Onsite infiltration of stormwater should be considered where site conditions allow.
