The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Center
provides free disposal and recycling services for a wide variety of household chemicals. The service is FREE for
most Kalamazoo County residents. As of January 2, 2009, City of Galesburg residents must pay for services.
As of August 1, 2009, Climax Township residents must also pay for services. The fee for Galesburg and Climax
Township residents will be approximately $20, depending on how much is brought in. Please
call for details. For a fee, small businesses may also use the service. In addition to Kalamazoo County residents
- this service is free to residents of Berrien County, Almena, and Paw Paw Townships. Please note that as of
July 28, 2009, Antwerp Township residents have to pay to use the service. The fee will be approximately $49,
depending on how much is brought in. Antwerp Township will reimburse the fee if a receipt is brought to their
office. Please call for details.
The HHW Center is open three days per week year round, with no appointment needed. The Center is located off Lake Street, next to the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds.
