USED MOTOR OIL RECYCLING |
 |
Oil Recycling Tips:
- Only pure motor oil can be recycled. Do not contaminate motor oil with gasoline, antifreeze or parts cleaner.
- Please make sure used motor oil is clean and free of debris, leaves, water, or small critters like mice or frogs.
- Motor oil and antifreeze recycle better when they are kept separate.
- If antifreeze and oil do get mixed, it must be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste Center for disposal.
- Please make sure caps and lids are on securely to prevent spills and leaks in your vehicle.
- Avoid milk jugs for oil recycling - they crack and leak faster than other containers. Laundry detergent bottles and 5-gallon buckets with lids work great.
- 5-gallon buckets with lids can be obtained from bakeries, sandwich shops and home improvement stores.
- If containers leak, please put them in another container - a 5-gallon bucket or plastic bag.
- Please place empty oil containers into the regular trash. Unfortunately, empty oil containers are NOT RECYCLABLE.
