SEASONAL PARK ATTENDANT (WINTER)
Parks & Expo Center Department

Responsibilities and Qualifications: Open and close gates/restrooms at various Kalamazoo County parks. Must have the ability to interact with the public. Communicate daily issues with appropriate Park staff. Morning shift is 5:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.; evening shift is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., up to seven days a week. High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age. Valid Michigan driver's license required. Drug testing is a requirement of this position.

WIC NUTRITIONIST
HCS—Health Services Bureau
Starting Salary (P280): $16.85-$18.53/hr
Part-time position; 20 hrs/wk; shift to be determined

Responsibilities and Qualifications: Determine eligibility for WIC program benefits by assessing medical/nutritional risk of pregnant/breastfeeding/post partum women, infants, and children. Determine appropriate food packages; counsel regarding feeding problems and formula concerns. Collaborate with community agencies regarding referrals and outreach activities. Participate in annual reporting and chart review activities.

Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, foods/nutrition or home economics with emphasis in nutrition. May also be a registered nurse, registered dietitian, registered dietetic technician or physician’s assistant.
Experience with community resources is essential. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Basic clerical, computer and math skills are necessary along with good organizational skills and effective communication skills. Reliable transportation. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired.
