YADC Program Assistant 8th District Court Contract Position $18.25/hr Part time, day shift

**THIS IS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACT POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS**
Assist with the case management and the progress of each Young Adult Diversion Court Program (YADC) participant with probation requirements, goals, and objectives, and establish the time line for each individual's achievement, at the direction of the 8th District Court Probation Department. Meet with each participant on a weekly basis to facilitate the participants' service learning projects, education, job shadow/employment, community service, and community connections as delineated by the 8th District Court Probation Department. Attend all YADC court review sessions, YADC court sessions, weekly YADC programming sessions, YADC team meetings, weekly meetings with the probation department, and any additional meetings as required by the Probation Supervisor or Health and Community Services (HCS). Oversee and facilitate with each participant their service learning and/or job shadow YADC requirement, to be completed within a 6 month time frame. Connect the participant to obtain legal identification as well as to the appropriate services provided through the HCS. Collect and record data and maintain statistics for YADC program evaluation at the direction of the Probation Supervisor. Work collaboratively with the 8th District Court, HCS, Speak It Forward, KCMHSAS, and all other volunteers and organizations associated with YADC. Maintain the confidentiality of any information regarding participants, and sign a confidentiality agreement in this regard.
A Bachelor's degree in health education, social work, teaching, or criminal justice is preferred. Experience working with the teen to young adult demographic. Familiarity with educational, health, and non-profit services/agencies in Kalamazoo County is preferred. Case management, organization, communication, leadership, ability to work independently and as part of a team, diversity awareness, punctuality, structure, and patience is required.
