Coordinate and control the progression of domestic cases, monitoring all functions that effect movement of cases in order to comply with statutory mandates, maintain court records, and database integrity, ensure that cases are scheduled within the required state and local court time period. Review all proposed domestic orders for completeness and enforceability prior to determination by a judge as well as opening and preparing new files to begin cases in the Family Division of Circuit Court.
A high school diploma is required. A minimum of two years court/legal/enforcement experience preferred. Fast, accurate keyboarding skills and in depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, or similar software needed. Excellent secretarial and written communication/composition skills required. Ability to derive information from multiple formats for data entry is necessary. The successful applicant must be able to follow detailed procedures, to establish priorities, and to make independent decisions. Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain composure during confrontational or situations and maintain confidentiality at all times. A strong background and understanding of the legal system and its language and procedures, knowledge of Michigan court rules and local procedures and practices are preferred.
