Enforce regulations associated with licensed food establishments and provides response to consumer complaints including during a food borne illness. Enforce regulations associated with public campbrounds. Enforce regulations associated with public swimming pools and spas. Provide contract audits for adult and childcare facilities. Enforce regulations associated with Michigan lead laws and educate the public regarding home environment issues; provide, advise, and resolve issues associated with housing sanitation and safety environment issues; provide, advise, and resolve issues associated with housing sanitation and safety. Provide contract audit for body art facilities. Enforce regulations associated with onsite wastewater and sewage treatment systems. Enforce regulations associated with onsite residential and Type III water supplies. Advise on and resolve issues associated wtih housing sanitation and safety. Coordinate activities associated with surface water monitoring and evaluation. Perform surveillance of condemned properties associated with Methamphetamine contamination.
A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health, Biology, or a related field is required; Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)/Registered Sanitarian (RS) preferrred. Knowledge of existing laws and ordinance related to environmental health, good communications and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team environment is required. Reliable transportation and a valid Michigan driver's license is required.
