COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
 |
Community and Economic Development Program
The Community and Economic Development Program enhances human and economic
well-being and quality of life in Kalamazoo County by providing educational
and technical assistance to business, government, and economic and community
organizations. This program area focuses on the development of human
capacity, the competitiveness of business and industry, and the sustainability
of our communities. Strategic initiatives include development of human
resources for tomorrow’s work force, enhancing the operation and
competitiveness of small business and industry, serving as a catalyst
facilitator of community and economic development, and initiating next stage
leadership in communities. |
 |
Services
MSU Extension also provides soil testing, nematode analysis service, insect
identification, and diagnosis of plant disorders for county homeowners,
nursery owners, and farmers. Staff advises these groups on the control
strategies of pests and disease. |
