There's Still Time To Register For The Master Gardener Winter Class

Kalamazoo, Mich.- Registration for the winter Kalamazoo County Master Gardener class is in full swing and will continue through January 27, or until 45 spots are filled. Registration packets can be picked up or mailed. To receive a registration packet, call the Kalamazoo County MSU Extension office at (269) 383-8830 or 384-8197. There is a fee to participate in this class.

The program will be held at the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (K-RESA), 1819 E. Milham Rd., on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., February 7 through May 2, 2006.

Topics to be covered are: Plant Science, Soil Science, Integrated Pest Management, Small Fruit, Tree Fruit, Home Invading Pests, Wildlife Management, Turfgrass Management, Woody Ornamentals, Composting, Flowers, Woody Ornamentals, Vegetables and Houseplants.

MSU Extension also has scholarships available to program participants that will be awarded based on a submitted essay. Applications for the scholarship will be available in the registration packet.
