Register Now for Master Gardener Class

Kalamazoo, Mich.- Looking for a holiday gift idea for the gardener in your family? Do you enjoy growing plants? Have you always wanted to take the Master Gardener class? The winter 2008 session of the Master Gardener class is being offered jointly by MSU Extension in Kalamazoo and VanBuren counties. Classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery in Mattawan beginning February 7 and continuing through May 1. If you would like to register for this class, please contact your local MSU Extension office today.

This in-depth horticultural program will cover the following topics: Plant Science, Soil Science, Small Fruit, Tree Fruit, Flowering Plants, Woody Ornamentals, Vegetables, Home Invading Pests, Wildlife Management, Turfgrass Management, Plant Health Care (including diagnosing problems), Water Quality, Composting and Indoor Plants.

There is a fee to participate in this class. To receive a registration packet, call the MSU Extension office in Kalamazoo at (269) 384-8197. Registration materials are also available online at http://web1.msue.msu.edu/mastergardener/kalamazoo/registration/index.htm MSU Extension in Kalamazoo County offers several partial scholarships for each class; scholarship applications are included in the registration packet.
