Kalamazoo County Fair Royalty Selected

Kalamazoo, Mich.- The Kalamazoo County Fair and Kalamazoo County 4-H Youth Programs are pleased to announce the 2007 Kalamazoo County Fair King and Queen who will preside over this year's Kalamazoo County Fair, August 6-11.

Congratulations to Jason McCubbin and Stephanie Garrod on being selected to represent 4-H this year as the 2007 Kalamazoo County Fair King and Queen. Both are members of the Galesburg United 4-H Club.

Jason is 18 and will be attending Western Michigan University in the fall as a sophomore, majoring in Civil Engineering. He has completed 10 years in 4-H taking a wide variety of projects including Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Small Mammals, Swine, Poultry and Crafts. Jason was the 2007 State Award Winner for Companion Animals. His parents are Jeff and Andrea McCubbin, Galesburg.

Stephanie is 18 and currently attends Hope College studying Psychology and Computer Science. She has been a 4-H member for 10 years. Her favorite projects are Photography and Dairy Feeder Calves/Dairy Steers. Stephanie parents are Lissa and John Garrod, Galesburg.

Jason and Stephanie will be crowned at the Opening Day Ceremonies & Parade on Monday, August 6th at 7:30 p.m. in front of the grandstand at the fairgrounds.

The King and Queen will be honored at a dinner on Thursday, July 12th at 5:30 p.m. at the Food Dance Café if you would like a photo and interview.
