Alternative Energy Option Workshop

Kalamazoo, Mich.- MSU Extension is sponsoring seminars providing information about Corn Burning and other Alternative Energy Options. These seminars will be offered at various locations around the state. Kalamazoo County will host the Alternative Energy Options seminar on Monday, February 11, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Nazareth Complex in the Georgian Room.

These free seminars will answer the questions: Why use corn? Can we depend on a stable corn supply? Dr. Chris Schilling, MSU Professor of Engineering, will discuss using bio-fuels for heat and the cost comparisons of fuels such as LP, Natural Gas, Fuel Oil, Wood and Corn. Other alternative energy sources such as geothermal basics, solar basic and how these technologies fit into our economy will also be reviewed.
