Master Gardeners Hold Plant Sale

Kalamazoo, Mich.- Are you looking forward to planting flowers? The Master Gardeners of Kalamazoo County are holding the 2nd annual Plant & Flower Sale on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Shop in comfort inside the County’s Health & Consumer Services building located at 3299 Gull Road in Kalamazoo.

New this year will be many varieties of Michigan native plants as well as Ensata iris and daylilies. Hummingbird and butterfly gardens will be pre-packaged for your convenience. A huge selection of hanging baskets, annuals and perennials will also be available. Grown locally, these top quality plants will instantly add beauty to your home landscape. In addition, the timing of this sale allows you to select beautiful gifts for Mothers’ Day (May 11). Plan to shop early for the best selection.

You can shop in comfort inside the Walnut Room on the main floor of the HCS building in the Nazareth complex. If you are traveling on Gull Road turn in at the blue sign for Borgess Health & Fitness Center and watch for signs directing you to the flower sale. Master Gardeners will gladly assist you by helping you select plants, and by carrying your purchases to your car. Cash, checks or gift certificates will be accepted for payment; we are unable to accept credit cards for payment.

Information on plant health care will also be available at the Master Gardener booth throughout the sale, and several plant societies will also have information on hand.

This Plant & Flower Sale is a fundraiser to help support the Master Gardener Volunteer program in Kalamazoo County. Master Gardeners receive extensive horticultural training and then share their specialized knowledge with the public through many community service projects. One example is the Master Gardener Helpline where you may call to ask gardening questions. This service may be accessed by calling (269) 384-8056 anytime. Leave a message and a Master Gardener will get back to you with an answer your question(s).
