Fall Registration for Master Gardener Class

Kalamazoo, Mich.- Want to learn more about gardening? Consider taking the Master Gardener class! Registration is underway for the fall session of the Kalamazoo County MSU Extension Master Gardener class. Class will meet Tuesdays at the Health and Community Services Building in Kalamazoo, 5:00-9:00 p.m. beginning September 8 and continuing through December 1, 2009. Registrations are now being accepted.

There is a $250 fee for the class and includes the textbook and handout materials. Registration is now available online at http://web2.canr.msu.edu/mgvp; or to receive a registration packet, call the MSU Extension office at (269) 384-8197. MSU Extension also offers several partial scholarships; these are awarded based on a submitted application. Scholarship applications are available by calling the MSU Extension office.

This in-depth horticultural program will cover the following topics: Plant Science, Soil Science, Integrated Pest Management, Small Fruit, Tree Fruit, Home Invading Pests, Turfgrass Management, Woody Ornamentals, Composting, Flowers, Woody Ornamentals, Vegetables and Houseplants.
