Camping
The camping season is from early May through late October (depending on the weather
conditions). Camping is available at Cold Brook Park, Markin Glen Park and the
Fairground. Cold Brook Park and Markin Glen Park offer both reserved and "first come-first served"
campsites. The Parks Department Office starts taking reservation requests on the first business day
of the year. To reserve campsites in advance, add a one-time fee of $5.
Cold Brook Park has 44 campsites in two separate areas: 29 Improved and 15 Rustic sites.
All sites have a picnic table and a fire pit.
The Improved Area: electric and water accessible at each site with a dump station available. Two sites are handicapped accessible. This area has a modern restroom with flush toilets and shower facilities.
The Rustic Area: vault toilets and hand pumps-no electricity.
Markin Glen Park has 38 campsites: 7 are pull-thru and 4 are handicapped accessible.
All sites have cement pads, a picnic table and a fire ring. Each site has water, electric and sewer
hook-ups. A dump station is available. This area has a modern restroom with flush toilets, shower
facilities and is handicapped accessible.
The Fairground offers a campground with 54 improved campsites that is open from early May to mid-October depending on the weather conditions. Each site comes with water and electric. There is an RV dump station on site. The campground also has a restroom with showers. During some special events, at the Fairground, the campground may not be available for non-event camping and different camping fees may apply.
For larger camping groups and camping rallies up to 270 camping units can be accommodated. Groups requiring over 54 campsites are required to get a temporary camping permit.
