Cold Brook Park sits on 276 acres and is located on East "MN" Avenue at South 42nd Street. The park address is 14467 East "MN" Avenue, Climax, Michigan.

Ball Fields:

Cold Brook has one ball field that is located at the Boat Ramp Shelter.

Boating:

Cold Brook offers access to three lakes; Blue Lake, Long Lake and Portage Lake. Access to Blue Lake is available at the beach and the boat ramp. Access to Portage Lake is available at the picnic area and the campgrounds. High speed boating is allowed only from 11am to 7:30pm. This applies to all three lakes. Any boat that can plane and/or pull a skier, tube etc. is able to violate this ordinance. The channel between Blue Lake and Long Lake is a NO WAKE SPEED ZONE. This applies to all watercraft with motors at all times of the day. No power loading. Such actions lead to the deterioration of the boat ramp and possible damage to boats. Violation of any of these ordinances is a misdemeanor. The Cold Brook boat ramp is open regular park hours.

Cold Brook Park has 51 campsites in two separate areas: 29 Improved and 22 Rustic sites. All sites have a picnic table and a fire pit.

The Improved Area: electric and water accessible at each site with a dump station available. Two sites are handicapped accessible. This area has a modern restroom with flush toilets and shower facilities.

The Rustic Area: vault toilets and hand pumps-no electricity.

The camping season is from early May through late October (depending on the weather conditions). Cold Brook offers campsites on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Reservations for the current year may be made beginning on the first business day in January. You can reserve specific campsites or groups of campsites together. Campsites can be reserved up to the current date. To make reservations less than two weeks of your arrival date, call Cold Brook Park directly at (269) 746-4270.   $15/night Rustic Area
*These camping fees include the entrance fee for one vehicle. Additional vehicles must pay the daily vehicle entrance fee or purchase an annual vehicle permit.

Disc Golf:

Cold Brook is home to a championship 18-hole disc golf course. There are no green fees. Access to the course requires either payment of the daily entrance fee or an annual park pass. You must bring your own equipment.

Fishing:

Cold Brook offers fishing on three lakes. Blue Lake, Portage Lake and Long Lake. A fishing pier is available as well as a boat ramp. The park has been home to many fishing tournaments and is a favorite among ice fishermen.

Hiking:

Cold Brook Park sits on 275 acres of land. There are many nature paths that allow for serene quiet walks in the woods or more intense hiking.

Horseshoes:

Horseshoe pits are available at beach, boat ramp and woods shelters and in the campground. Limited sporting equipment may be available at the gate house. Check with the attendant. Plan on bringing your own.

Picnic Shelters:

Cold Brook offers three shelters. They may be reserved to allow for exclusive use of the shelter and to guarantee availability or they may be used on a "first come- first serve" basis if they have not been reserved. Picnic shelters are available on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Reservations may be made for the current year beginning on the first business day in January. Reserve your spot early as picnic shelters fill quickly.

Swimming:

Cold Brook Park has a sandy swimming beach that compliments the beach area for a day at the Park of picnicking, sunbathing, boating, disc golf or just enjoying time with others. No Lifeguards are furnished at any Park. People are expected to be responsible for their actions and the actions of any children they may bring to the Park. Volleyball:

We don't have volleyball courts. We do have some sports equipment available, including nets and balls. Posts are provided, depending on the Park. Some are moveable, some are not. Check with the attendant at the gate house. Plan on bringing your own.
