"The Ten-Year Strategic Plan for Kalamazoo's County Parks proposes a comprehensive long-term framework with an ambitious vision and challenging goals. It is our plan to achieve this vision by creating innovative and unique park activities and attractions, by partnering extensively with community resources, and by reducing reliance on the County's General Fund.

The Plan establishes the foundation for a parks system that will serve coming generations through the preservation of green spaces and historic resources in which they can recreate, relax, and learn.

We believe that through the creative use of County and community resources, stronger collaborations with our volunteers, community organizations, and local jurisdictions, we can achieve these goals in the timeframe outlined in this document."
