Walking in a group increases your commitment to sticking to your routine, and it's a great chance to socialize and make new friends! Did you know that walking can reduce stress, help prevent heart disease, improve sleep, and help you maintain or lose weight? Join us for a chance to see and learn about our native summer wildflowers that grow along the trail where it parallels the Kalamazoo River. Led by a member of the Audubon Society of Kalamazoo, we will also look for butterflies. No prior knowledge is required — only an interest in the natural world and the environment.

Plants and wildlife can be found nearby in our neighborhoods, and our city streets. Please join Kalamazoo Nature Center naturalist, Dan Keto, for a nature safari on the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail through the neighborhoods of Kalamazoo.

Presented by the Scotts Olde Tyme Power & Equipment Association. Activities Include: Threshing Machines, Baling, Community Wide Garage Sale, Community Wide Parade, Antique Cars, Antique Tractors, Blacksmithing, Flea Market & Crafts, Flour Mill Demonstrations, Food Concessions, Hit & Miss Engines, Kiddie Train, Planer, Rope Making, Sawmills, Shingle Mill, Oil Pull & Steam Engines, and Old Engines. Please join the Kalamazoo County Parks Department and the Alma Powell Branch of the Kalamazoo Public Library for this story-time program on the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail, and be entertained with tales about health and fitness as well as the outdoors.

Open Roads Fixapalooza is coming to the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail! Bring your kids and bring your bikes, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to fix a flat tire and assess their bicycle for safety. Kids will also learn the basics of bicycle safety.
