07/22/2012 - Car Driven By 13 Year Old Strikes Local Market
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Private Property Personal Injury Accident that occurred at Gil’s Market, 654 River St in Comstock Twp.

Perla Cardona, 25 of Kalamazoo, allowed a 13 year old female to get behind the wheel and drive around the parking lot of Gil's Market. The teenager then hit the wrong pedal and crashed into the entrance of the Market. 

Heather Kelley, a 25 yr old female from Comstock, was walking into Gil’s Market when she was struck by the 13 yr old.  She is being treated at Bronson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The accident is still under investigation.

Pending Charges:
13 year old driver – operating without a license / careless driving
Perla Cardona – operating without a license / allowing an unlicensed driver to operate / no proof of insurance
