Avoid Travel! Stuck Vehicles Blocking Plows, Conditions Unsafe

The Kalamazoo County area is experiencing near-blizzard conditions and frequent whiteouts, resulting in frequent slideoffs and stuck vehicles.  These vehicles are making it difficult for road clearing agencies to clear the streets.  Please stay off the roadways and allow road agencies time to remove continuing snowfall.  Vehicles with low ground clearance will get stuck in drifts and block traffic, and the frigid temperatures can produce frostbite in 10-15 minutes if exposed to the wind.

Similarly, please limit communication to road clearing agencies to emergency situations.  They are working to clear the roads as quickly as they can.
