Vital Records

The Kalamazoo County Clerk maintains birth, death, and marriage records for events that occurred in Kalamazoo County, and provides qualified applicants with certified copies. We have birth and death records dating back to 1867 and marriage records dating back to 1831.

In addition to maintaining Doing Business As (DBA) and Co-Partnership certificates for businesses that file in Kalamazoo County, the Clerk files and issues marriage licenses, notary public applications and concealed pistol licenses. Military personnel may file a copy of their discharge papers (DD-214s) with the County Clerk’s Office.

The Kalamazoo County Clerk serves as the registrar for vital records.
