Who May Request a Copy of a Video Record Or Transcript?

Any individual may obtain a copy of a video record, view a video record, or request a transcript of public court proceedings by following the procedures outlined in this notice. Any other requests will be subject to the discretion of the hearing official that presided over the court proceeding; or in his/her absence, as set forth in court policy AD-1005, Video Recordings of Court Proceedings.

Requesting Copies of a Video Record

Any individual may request a copy of a video record of public court proceedings. Please note that discs are formatted to be compatible with a personal computer. They are not operational in DVD players or audio CD players.

Requests for copies of video proceedings must be made in writing using form 9CC-1308, available from any 9th Circuit Court employee.

There is a $20.00 fee for each date of a requested court event. If you wish to have your copies mailed, there is a $5.00 mailing fee for 1 to 4 copies; a $10.00 fee for 5 or more copies. Checks or money orders must be made payable to "9th Circuit Court."

To request copies of a video record, submit completed form 9CC-1308 and payment to the 9th Circuit Court Technology Unit at either the Family Division or Trial Division address listed below. No orders will be taken without prepayment. You will be notified as soon as your copies are ready. Reasonable accommodations may be considered by the Circuit Court for immediate requests to copy a video record.

Viewing a Video Record

Any individual may view public court proceedings by completing form 9CC-1307. Confidential and/or closed proceedings may only be viewed upon the approval of the judge presiding at the court proceeding; or in his/her absence, as set forth in court policy AD-1005.

Reasonable accommodations may be considered by the Circuit Court for immediate requests to view a video record.

Ordering a Transcript

Official transcripts of proceedings that will be filed with the court must be ordered from the reporters/recorders authorized by the court to prepare transcripts. You must use form 9CC-1013 to request preparation of a transcript.

To order a transcript, submit completed form 9CC-1013 to the 9th Circuit Court Technology Unit:
