8^th District Court

WELCOME TO THE KALAMAZOO COUNTY 8th DISTRICT COURT

The 8th District Court is a court of limited jurisdiction serving the County of Kalamazoo and is comprised of three Divisions located within the City of Kalamazoo.

The Criminal Division including the Probation Department, Civil Division and Traffic Division are located at the Judge Charles A. Pratt Justice Center. For more information about each Division please explore our website.

Hours of Court Operations: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, except for holidays. Court offices are open through the lunch hour.

If you wish to file any documents regarding a civil infraction ticket, a criminal matter, or a civil matter for general civil, small claims, or landlord tenant, please email one of the links below for the appropriate division of the 8th District Court. Please note that the Civil email address is not for initial filings of a case nor any filings that require a motion fee be paid. The 8th District Court does not accept electronic filings that require payment. Also note that the Civil Division may reject certain filings via email such as default judgments. You will receive a reply email with information on how to file your documents. You may file those matters in person or via mail with a check made out to the 8th District Court for each individual case.
