Genealogy

Many people find Probate Court records very useful in tracing their ancestry. With the exception of Adoption Records, all Probate Court records are open to the public. In addition the Probate Court is required to keep all records.

Kalamazoo County Probate Court records begin in 1832. Court records are available to the public for genealogy research.

Probate records for the years of 1832 to 1990 are available on microfilm.

You may stop in or e-mail our office and volunteers will research to determine if there are any records per your request.

The cost for photocopies is $2.00 per page.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Court opens on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.
