Welcome to the Kalamazoo County Drain Commissioner’s Office.
Our Mission is to provide for the health, safety and welfare of Kalamazoo County citizens, the protection of surface waters and the environment, and to promote the long-term environmental sustainability of Kalamazoo County by providing storm water management, flood control, soil erosion controls and education.
Free Scrap Tire Recycling
The Kalamazoo Conservation District is excited to be offering four FREE scrap tire recycling events for Kalamazoo County residents! The tires that are collected will be recycled and used in roads, driveways, trails, and a variety of other products.
Appointments are required and can be made by completing this form. Kalamazoo County residents can sign up for any of the events and must provide proof of county residency. Only passenger tires with rims removed will be collected and no businesses are allowed to participate. Additional details and restrictions are provided on our website and on the sign-up form.
There are four event dates and locations:
- Thursday June 16, 2022: 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the City of Kalamazoo parking lot located at 322 Stockbridge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49001
- Wednesday June 29, 2022: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Comstock Township Transfer Station located at 6604 East Main St., Comstock, MI 49048
- Thursday July 21, 2022: 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Richland Township Office located at 7401 N. 32nd St., Richland, MI 49083
- Tuesday July 26, 2022: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at Swan Park located at 50 East VW Ave., Vicksburg, MI 49097
