Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC)
The Kalamazoo County Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Ordinance, amended in 2019, is intended to protect natural resources and neighboring property owners by regulating earth change activities which can injure the environment through erosion and the unnatural accumulation of sediment. This Ordinance was adopted pursuant to Part 91 of the Michigan Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, being Act 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, as amended.
KCDC’s Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Agents administer and enforce the Ordinance throughout all of Kalamazoo County, except within the boundaries of a governmental unit that has adopted its own Ordinance.
The following Municipalities are Municipal Enforcing Agencies and issue permits within their jurisdictional boundaries:
City of Kalamazoo 269-337-8026
