Septic tank effluent filters provide a relatively inexpensive means of preventing solids from discharging to the absorption area. They are installed at the outlet of the septic tank to collect solids that may be discharged from the tank. Excessive solid accumulation in the filter results in slow discharge to the aborption system. This may result in slow or gurgling drains within the house. If this occurs, contact a licensed septage pumper for service.
