Long Term Care Ombudsman

A Long Term Care Ombudsman is a trained and certified advocate dedicated to assisting older adults residing in homes for the aged, adult foster care, and skilled nursing facilities. 

Their role is to improve the quality of care and quality of life of the residents who reside in licensed facilities throughout the state.
Frequent calls to this program consist of:

  • Concerns a residents rights are violated from a facility
  • Unresolved issues or unmet needs of a resident
  • Care complaints in facilities
  • When a nursing home asks you to leave
  • Help you file a complaint with the state of MI
  • Any nursing home concerns or questions
