Vaccination Costs

The Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department participates in the Federal "Vaccines for Children" programthat provides vaccines to children who have Medicaid, no insurance, no insurance coverage for vaccines, or are Native Alaskan orNative American Indian.

You could also qualify if you have met your wellness cap for the year and you have no further immunization coverage. Please call your insurance provider to find out if you have immunization coverage. If you have any portion of the vaccines covered, you need to receive immunizations at your physician’s office.

VFC Info

For Private Insurance Billing: We have a private supply of all vaccine available for those who have private insurance that we bill. If we cannot bill your insurance, you will need to pay market price for the private vaccine. Prices for these vaccines vary. Please call 269-373-5203 for more information.

International Travel Immunizations Information

International travel immunization are provided for anyone planning travel out of the country. For more information regarding international travel and immunizations:

Appointments are required. Please call 269-373-5198 to schedule an appointment.

  • Please be aware that some travel vaccines require adminisration four weeks prior to travel.
  • No vaccines will be given without a consultation.
  • Each appointment has a consultation that includes an individual vaccine assessment based on the country you are traveling to and your individual health needs (risk factors, health status, age, etc.), counseling on disease risk/prevention in the country of travel, travel health and safety counseling, prescriptions for malaria prevention and traveler's diarrhea treatment (if applicable), and, of course, immunizations.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment for time to complete your paperwork. If you are late then you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.

What to Bring:

  • Please bring past immunization records, and a list of current medications.
  • Payment is required at time of your visit in the form of cash or credit cards. Please be advised that most insurance companies do not cover travel vaccines.
  • The following forms must be completed and brought to your appointment:

Immunization Records

You can request an official immunization record from your primary care provider (doctor’s office) or from your local public health department. To request from the health department, complete this form. You should anticipate a call within a week to confirm your information. Once the request is processed, you may receive your official immunization record by mail or by picking up at the health department’s office.

Immunization waivers are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment with a nurse, call 269-373-5198.
