School-based health services at Loy Norrix High School provide high quality, integrated, and confidential  care to Kalamazoo County area youth from 5-21 years of age.

Most services require parental/guardian consent. Once consent forms are signed and received by the Knights Health Center, students can call for appointments or come by to see if there is availability for a walk-in appointment. Consent forms can be found here.
Please note that Michigan law allows a minor to seek specific medical or mental health services at any health clinic in Michigan (including family and pediatric provider offices) without parental /guardian consent in the following situations:

• Students who are between 12 and 17 years of age may seek and receive advice, testing, and/or treatment for: sexually transmitted infections (STI), substance use disorders; pregnancy testing; and referral for birth control services.
• Students between the ages of 14 and 17 years of age may seek and receive outpatient mental health visits up to 12 visits or 4 months without parental/guardian consent.

Note that school-based health centers are NOT permitted to dispense or prescribe birth control pills or devices. Counselling, referrals, or services to terminate a pregnancy are also NOT permitted.

The Knights Health Center will provide services to all Kalamazoo County youth from the ages of 5 to 21 years regardless of the ability to pay. If students do have insurance, including Medicaid, the insurance company will be billed directly.

The Knights Health Center will be open from 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday with extended hours one day/week and will be open throughout the summer and KPS holiday breaks.

Parking is available in the Visitor’s Parking lot, in front of Loy Norrix High School. Please, park there. However, if there are not any spaces available, please do park in the larger, non-reserved lot. Please note that the numbered spots (spray painted on the asphalt) are reserved for students.

At the main doors of Loy Norrix High School, visitors to the Knights Health Center will be buzzed into the school. Please take the stairs to the 1st floor, turn left, and the health center will be the first door on your left. An elevator can be found behind and to the left of the stairs and is available for use.

Yes! The Knights Health Center is the first student-based health center under this current funding and is mandated to serve ALL Kalamazoo County youth between the ages of 5 and 21 years. Youth in the following villages and townships are invited and welcome to seek services at the Knights Health Center:

Augusta, Climax, Galesburg, Kalamazoo, Parchment, Portage, Richland, Schoolcraft, Vicksburg

Alamo, Brady, Charleston, Climax, Comstock, Cooper, Kalamazoo, Oshtemo, Pavilion, Prairie Ronde, Richland, Ross, Schoolcraft, Texas, and Wakeshma.
