Salary NF-12 (A-B) $14.52 - $14.90/hr.
Part-time: 20 hrs. Hours varies

This position oversees the security of the Court facilities to which they are assigned

Duties includes: Secure buildings and conduct security inspections of citizens who enter or are on County or Court property.  Respond quickly to alarm points or any other breaches of security.  Operate a radio or other transmitting device for communication with Court or other police personnel.  Intervene in potentially problematic situations in order to diffuse possible violence and summon additional law enforcement.  Prepare written reports and records.  Operate screening equipment at court house entry points.  Assist in any area as directed by the Court as it relates to security.

Must have two years of College, or the equivalent with military service and Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certification.  Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years of age and possess a valid Michigan drivers’ license. Ability to pass a post-offer medical exam, drug screen, and psychological evaluation. Must pass a thorough background investigation. Ability to complete First Aid certification. Understand and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, policies, security procedures and techniques.  Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies and multi-task. Ability to obtain accurate data, prepare written reports and communicate effectively. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the work, which includes the performance of strenuous tasks requiring muscular strength, coordination, and cardiovascular endurance.  No visible tattoos or must be concealed during working hours. Must pass a thorough background investigation.  Must be MCOLES certified or certifiable.
