To provide Clerical and receptionist support to a section of the Sheriff’s Office.
Transcribe reports, forms and correspondence. Minimum 60 wpm. Answers incoming calls and provides information and/or directs caller to appropriate personnel. Coordinates with section staff and other government agencies. Maintains records system for section. Greets and corresponds with citizens and officials.
High school diploma with an additional two years college, preference given to those with experience in the field of criminal justice, law or law enforcement. One-year experience as receptionist/clerical person preferred. Must have exceptional office skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and Excel programs, good computer and keyboard skills, ability to accurately transcribe using standard transcription equipment. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting. Ability to maintain confidentially. No visible tattoos. Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug test.
A Kalamazoo County Sheriff's office application packet must be submitted and received by the deadline in order to be considered for this position. Application packets may be picked up in person at the front desk of the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office front desk is open Monday thru Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
