Provide support to participants enrolled in Treatment & Recovery Court and their family so that the juvenile may remain in the community and successfully complete the terms and conditions of the program. Maintain frequent face‐to‐face contact with T&RC juveniles. Communicate and collaborate with the T&RC probation officer and the T&RC team. Establish rapport with juveniles and the family. Advocate, mentor, support and coach juveniles. Help juveniles develop and maintain a supportive network. Assist juveniles with meeting the expectations of the probation officer and court. Assist juvenile with homework, completing job/college applications, and finding community service opportunities.
Provide transportation to and from appointments, activities, and other destinations as necessary. Assist transporter or juvenile probation officer in transporting youth to, or from, detention or residential facility. Enter and manage program data in Drug Court Case Management Information Systems (DCCMIS) to assist in statistical reporting to the State Court Administrative Office. Complete weekly written reports to the Court detailing juvenile progress. Provide accurate, reliable and relevant information to the judge and T&RC team. Teach and demonstrate coping and conflict resolution skills to the youth and model exemplary behavior for the juvenile. Assist the juvenile and/or family with de‐escalation during times of crisis. Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma/GED required. Possession of a valid Michigan’s driver’s license with acceptable driving record, vehicle registration and insurance. Previous experience working with juvenile and/or families from a variety of social, economic, education, and cultural backgrounds is preferred but not required. Will consider relevant volunteer work and/or internship experience.
