Manage and coordinate the scheduling of hearings and trials and coordinate service of process and case flow for cases referred to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.  Regulate and control procurement of office equipment and supplies.  Input electronic vouchers for payment to the Office of Finance. Monitor payments and check processing. Review and regulate Expenditure and Status Reports for correctness or inaccuracies and stay within the Budgeted dollars.  Review cases to ensure MI Ct. Rules have been followed, determine type of hearing, prepare paperwork, file with the court, and notify all parties.  Submit list of scheduled hearings to ensure proper files are pulled for the hearing.

Prepare service of process papers for investigators, prison personnel, Sheriff Deputies, out of state service (rest/cert mail) and to execute personal service for defendants reporting to the Prosecutor’s Office on a weekly basis.  Processes interstate orders and case filings with the Central Case Registry in other states or foreign jurisdictions.  Maintain tickler system for distribution of workload and movement of files.  Maintain office calendar for the Family Support Division of the office coordinating time off, hearing schedules and appointments for the staff.   Responsible for maintaining case files, statistical records, rejected referrals and budget files at the offsite archives.  Responsible for coordinating the end of the year file movement from our office to archives.  Review destruction requests from archives to assure files are not destroyed prior to the destruction dates.

High school diploma, 2-3 years’ experience in a law office and/or experience working in the criminal justice system.  Working knowledge of the criminal justice system.  Clerical skills & computer data entry and retrieval.  Being able to work under stress, at a fast pace, and with constant interruptions.  Strong ability to multi-task and work independently.  Maintain excellent rapport with the public, as well as, police & court personnel.  Ability to be patient, understanding, and empathetic when assisting traumatized, frustrated and/or angry persons.  Experience with MiCSES Child Support Database preferred. Working knowledge with the Child Support Process preferred.  Familiarity with Civil Court Process preferred.
