GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to perform entry-level professional accounting functions involved in the maintenance and review of departmental or Countywide fiscal accounts. GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to represent citizens in criminal, quasi-criminal, and civil matters by reviewing, enforcing, and litigating the applicable laws. Conducts screening, charging, and handling complex capital felony and homicide cases in the Appellate, Circuit, District, and Family courts. GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to coordinate the safe, secure, and efficient operations of the airport. To conduct airfield safety inspections/airport security inspections, coordinate snow removal operations, issue NOTAMs, and implement the Airport Certification Manual and Airport Security Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and conduct airfield inspections for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding safety and security, issuing Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) when appropriate.
- Maintain and implement the Airport Certification Manual, including the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan, Airport Emergency Plan, and Snow and Ice Control Plan, to assure airport compliance in a timely manner approved by the FAA.
- Conduct perimeter security inspections, escort personnel, perform ID checks, and report security incidents to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) & local authorities.
- Oversee Airport Rules & Regulations and other Airport core documents, including review of tenant and concessionaire contracts and inspection of leased areas to ensure compliance. Communicate with staff, tenants, stakeholders, and the general public to answer questions related to airport operations.
- Monitor project areas on or near the airport during project duration to ensure compliance with all safety requirements and coordinate construction activity, including any mandatory closure of airfield surfaces, issuance of applicable NOTAMs, and airspace impacts related to 14 CFR Part 77.
- Conduct regular, periodic, or special inspections of airport facilities, such as roadways, parking lots, hangar buildings, etc., to check for maintenance issues. Reports deficiencies to Airport Maintenance via the work order system.
- Respond to aircraft/airport emergencies and coordinate with Airport Rescue & Firefighting personnel. Report incident information to FAA/NTSB and coordinate airfield closures/openings as needed. Assist in the removal of aircraft.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to oversee inmates' custody, safety, and security in the Kalamazoo County Jail. This position works in a 24-hour lockdown facility. Assignments are made any day of the week and on any shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observe inmate activity to detect unusual or prohibited behavior that might threaten the facility's security or others' safety.
- Respond quickly to calls for assistance in the jail.
- Prepare written reports after responding to critical incidents.
- Accurately count inmates under their supervision several times during each shift.
- Conduct a thorough search of inmates and jail cells.
- Monitor inmate feeding, recreational activities, and inmate visits.
- Correctly deliver prescribed medication to inmates.
- Ensure the facility's security systems, firefighting equipment, and other equipment are operating.

This position is with the Food Safety & Facilities team.
The purpose of this job is to conduct inspections to license/permit food establishments, wells, septic systems, body art facilities, child/adult care facilities, bathing beaches, campgrounds, and swimming pools to determine compliance with food code, well code, sanitary code, and other standards set by the State of Michigan.

GENERAL SUMMARY
This position performs the law enforcement functions of a Deputy Sheriff for Kalamazoo County. This position provides enforcement of all criminal and traffic laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duties include operating emergency vehicles and, patrolling county areas to enforce traffic laws, and responding to emergencies or other calls for assistance from the dispatcher. Investigate traffic accidents, domestic disturbances, and reports of criminal activity; conduct surveillance/searches and gather evidence.
- Pursue suspects, issue traffic & appearance citations, make probable cause & warrant arrests, and transport suspects in custody.
- Prepare written reports and records, including completing Vehicle Pursuit forms, Use of Force forms, arrest reports, On-the-job Injury reports, and other case-related documentation.
- Testify in case-related court proceedings. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 30 college credit hours or equivalent military training and experience, with Michigan Corrections Officer Training Council (MCOTC) certification and Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES), certified/certifiable.
Must know law enforcement procedures and techniques. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills, composure during stressful situations, and basic computer skills, including experience with word processing and database data entry.
The candidate must be a citizen of the United States, 21 years of age or older, and possess a valid Michigan driver's license. Must pass a drug screen, physical/medical examination, and thorough background investigation. Must be physically able to wear and operate respiratory
protection devices and learn and apply self-defense and other procedures for dealing with hostile or violent citizens. Upon hire, must become LEIN, First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.
Any individual with a felony conviction, a pending felony or misdemeanor charge, a domestic violence conviction, or an outstanding warrant is ineligible for consideration for employment.

Eligibility:
- Applicants currently licensed through MCOLES and hired during the eligibility period will receive an initial $5,000 payment after completing their Field Training program. The remaining $5,000 will be paid upon completing their probationary period.
- All newly hired qualified MCOLES Academy candidates hired after January 2023 will receive an immediate $5,000.00 hiring bonus. They will receive another $5,000.00 bonus after they have successfully completed a Police Academy, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff Office Field Training program, and the probationary period.
- All employees employed during 2023 and beyond shall also receive the $5,000.00 hiring bonus after successfully completing the MCOLES Academy and an additional $5,000.00 upon completing the field training program.
All these candidates will be sponsored by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office when attending the Police Academy.
Process and Completion:
This process will start on January 02, 2023, and continue until all ARPA-awarded funds are used.
Disqualifiers:
- Anyone who does not successfully complete their Field Training program and 1-year probationary status in the Operations Division will not receive their second $5,000.00 hiring bonus.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to oversee and perform the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and facilities at the organization's Expo Center. Coordinate event services, including setting up and tearing down event spaces, establishing deadlines, coordinating and supervising the work of Expo Center operations team members while serving as the supervisor on duty, coordinating work of direct reports, and contacting vendors for necessary resources. Monitors residents' daily routine and attends treatment team meetings with families and court staff. Provides input on youth behavior, whether it be achievements or areas that need improvement. It utilizes a moral recognition therapy treatment method that the program is structured around.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors and ensures the safety of resident(s) in detention and residential treatment programs; interacts with residents in both group and individual settings.
- Conducts admission procedures, including searching residents' property, documenting evidence, completing questionnaires with residents, strip searches, and reporting areas of concern to the Supervisor, Psychologist, and/or any other proper individual or agency.
- Coaches residents in activities to teach basic living and pro-social skills as well as the use of effective coping mechanisms and self-regulatory techniques.
- Maintains security of buildings and facilities; monitors security cameras.
- Provides assistance during school hours; monitors residents, aids teachers when necessary, and helps residents with schoolwork.
- Performs a wide range of service duties, including assisting in the kitchen, driving residents to appointments, running errands, and facilitating extra-curricular activities.
- Performs physical restraint techniques when residents have become a danger to themselves or others.
