RSSCradle Kalamazoo's 3rd Annual Meeting
November 8
Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
As a partner of Cradle Kalamazoo, the Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department is inviting the community to join Cradle Kalamazoo for their 3rd Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (120 Roberson St., Kalamazoo, MI).
Cradle Kalamazoo is a multi-agency community initiative lead by YWCA Kalamazoo. By bringing together community leaders and organization to implement evidence-based & Holistic intervention, the goal of Cradle Kalamazoo is to reduce infant deaths and promote respect for families, women, and their children.
Attendees of the 3rd Annual Meeting will learn more about Cradle Kalamazoo’s accomplishments and the efforts made to reach the goal of creating zero disparities in infant mortality and an overall infant mortality rate of less than 3.0 per 1,000 live births in Kalamazoo County. Community stakeholders will discuss the local impact of Cradle efforts while guest speaker, Dr. Joia Crear Perry, the Founder and President of the National Birth Equity Collaborative, will discuss the national efforts to reduce infant mortality.
“Cradle Kalamazoo has been involved in strategies addressing infant mortality at the local, state, and national level. The work involves supporting families that need help the most. Through this multi-agency initiative we know we can reduce the infant mortality rate in our community and ensure that our most vulnerable infants celebrate their first birthday,” said Jim Rutherford, Health Officer of Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department.
