What uses more muscle groups and burns more calories than walking, but with less exertion than running? Nordic Walking! This aerobic activity is perfect for all fitness levels including those recovering from sports related injuries.
Nordic walking is a way of walking utilizing specially designed poles that allow you to exercise on any surface. Easy to learn with no more physical exertion than regular walking, Nordic walking burns more calories, takes in more oxygen, relieves strain on hips, knees and ankles, tones the upper body and improves posture. Come learn bout Nordic walking and experience walking with the poles first hand. Poles will be provided for use during the clinic, but participants are more than welcome to bring their own as well.
When: Thursday, May 16 at 6:00pm
Where: Mayors' Riverfront Park, parking is available near Homer Stryker Field toward the back of the park.
Who: All ages are welcome, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
