Kalamazoo County Emergency Operations Center activated
Sheriff Fuller and Kalamazoo County Government officials discuss the County's efforts to combat the Coronavirus and the activation of the Kalamazoo County Emergency Operations Center.
The Kalamazoo County Office of Emergency Management (KCOEM) has opened its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as of Friday, March 13th, 2020 at 4pm in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
In accordance with the Governor’s declaration of a Statewide Emergency with regards to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Kalamazoo County EOC is acting in a logistical and communications coordination role, supporting local, state, and federal efforts to contain, manage, and mitigate this public health emergency.
In order to prevent the spread of the virus within our own organization, minimal staff is being used at the physical EOC location, and KCOEM is leveraging electronic and digital means of communications to minimize opportunities for exposure.
The Kalamazoo County Office of Emergency Management will release situation updates at appropriate times as the situation warrants.
